What We Offer
Most studios only offer one or two different arts. But at the Bernales Institute, we have expert instructors in a variety of specialties. Our instructors have decades of experience and have been trained and certified by the top professionals in their fields. Learn more here about the BIMA Lineage.
Our skilled professionals can help you to reach your potential whether you're interested in stand-up fighting, weaponry for fun or competition, the ground fighting skills of Jiu-Jitsu, the practical counter-offense maneuvers of the Filipino martial arts, Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do, or Muay Thai Boxing. We also offer women-only Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai / Thai Boxing classes.
We offer classes across a variety of days and times to accommodate your life. You will learn new skills during every session, participate in creative drills and sparring matches to hone your abilities, and become part of a community that will encourage and support you in your efforts. Our instructors seamlessly integrate the teaching of techniques with entertaining examples of practical, real-life applications for what you're learning. Our belt system rewards dedication, hard work, and integrity; as you progress to higher belt levels, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are obtaining true expertise that was legitimately earned.
Why Learn a Martial Art?
Unfortunately, there is no way to predict whether you will be faced with a violent threat at some point in your life. The question is whether you will be prepared if you are, and whether you will have the knowledge and confidence you need to protect yourself and your family. Think of life like a vehicle. The chances of being in a crash on any given day are low, but most people wear their seat belt anyway so as to be prepared and lower the risk of a serious injury if the unthinkable were to happen. Martial arts training is like a seat belt for your daily life; even though most of the time you may not need it, having the skills if the need arises can make all the difference in the outcome.
There is no such thing as the "best" martial art; there is only the martial art or arts that best fit you. Whether you want to learn self-defense, earn a black belt, get into better shape, or just have fun, the Bernales Institute will enable you to meet your goals.
