We offer a women-only Jiu-Jitsu class on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art that is useful for self-defense as well as for staying physically fit. For women who wish to participate only with other women, this class offers a safe and comfortable community in which to develop your skills.
Jiu-Jitsu is perhaps the most efficient and powerful martial art for women who wish to learn practical self-defense techniques and protect themselves from violence. Jiu-Jitsu's “guard” position is an extremely effective technique for preventing sexual violence. At BIMA, you will also learn many other Jiu-Jitsu maneuvers that will enable you to escape from aggressive acts such as hair grabs, chokes, and other holds.
This class will teach you ground-based and standing escapes, as well as other techniques to ensure your safety.
The class is taught by Jocelyn Fugit, a first-degree blue belt.
We also offer women-only Muay Thai / Thai boxing classes.
