In our Dragons classes, preteens have the opportunity to learn higher-level Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing skills within a challenging but supportive environment. They learn self-defense skills and self-discipline principles that will benefit them throughout their lives. Students are given clear guidelines for appropriate behavior both inside and outside the studio, and the instructors motivate students to reach their full potential. A family atmosphere develops among the students as they develop physically, mentally, and emotionally through these classes. We expand on our Danger Stranger program in these classes by teaching more advanced techniques to enable children to defend themselves from grabs, hair pulls, and other aggressive behaviors that they may encounter. Dragons classes involve direct instruction, opportunities for engaging in matches (sparring) with classmates, and calisthenics to build strength and endurance.
