Junior Dragons (ages 7-9)
Our Junior Dragons classes enable children to develop more advanced Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Boxing skills as well as self-control and focus. The expectations for self-discipline are higher than in the Tiny Tigers classes, and students are given more technical detail about the techniques they are learning. Students are encouraged to push their limits in healthy, sustainable ways. Junior Dragons classes involve focused teaching of specific maneuvers as well as regular opportunities to engage in matches (spar) with classmates to build skills in a more challenging setting. In the Junior Dragons class, we also introduce our Danger Stranger program, which includes techniques to counter being grabbed, hair pulls, and other aggressive actions that students may be faced with in their lives. Students also build their strength and endurance through calisthenics at the end of each class, and they are encouraged to develop their mind, body, and spirit. As Junior Dragons hone their skills and advance in belt levels, they move into the Dragons class when appropriate.
